The zoo with friends!

Since May began, we have been the zoo not once, but twice! How fun is that? Amity loves, loves, loves seeing all the animals and her favorite is still the elephant show.

Amity's Big Debut in Album Art!

We have fantastic friends. Tim Coons, a local, amazing, and inspirational song-writer and artist hosted a project recently for his latest album. In essence, he asked a bunch of his artsy friends to take pictures that would go along with a song he posted from the album, each week in July, that he might be able to use for album art after the album is released. It was a huge hit. I watched as literally dozens of images flooding my instagram feed all hashtagged with Potomacproject, the name of his new album. Giggling, Smiling, and Growing Up So Quickly!

We went and paid a visit to my Grandma, Amity's Great-Grandma Rusho, this week and had a nice lunch out in Windsor. When we got back, we played and Grandma showed Ami the little doll she had recently finished crocheting a dress for. As you can see in the video, Amity thought the doll, and Grandma were a hoot and she laughed for the very first time! We were so thankful we remembered to bring the camera and caught as much of the giggles as we could! Since then, she has laughed one more time, last night, after spending a weekend with Nana and Papi (my parents) down in Parker. Aaron and I were out, shooting a wedding on Saturday, and Nana and Papi took great care of her. It was a long day for us all on Sunday as Amity was up every couple of hours Saturday night, and Aaron and I only arrived back from the wedding to head to bed sometime just before 1am. One of the Hardest Weeks

Life isn't fair sometimes. This past Friday night, I started getting ready for bed by doing my usual Facebook, Pinterest, and Email checking as Amity and Aaron were winding down for sleep. As I was reading, I noticed a lot of people were commenting on an old friend of mine's wall, writing things about how much he will be missed and how great of a man he was. I was stopped. Gasping aloud, I burst into tears as I then found myself reading a post my childhood pastor made about how my friend, Jeff Ipsen had passed away due to an accident back-country-skiing with his brother and two friends. How could this be? This month has felt so difficult in so many ways and for a life so young, active, and wonderful to be gone from this world, just left me feeling uneasy and alone. Jeff and I were pretty close when I was in high school. Growing up going to youth group together, I remember my friend Sarah and I, both a year older than Jeff, immediately made up the name "Jefe...
