Fun & Full Weekends at the Adamson House! (July 13-14)
We had so many things going on a few weekends ago but all of it was a blast and though we were tired, it was great seeing so many friends and family! I am embarrassed to admit that I started this post about 2 weeks ago and am just getting around to finishing it. Oh, the life of mommy-hood...
To start, we had an engagement scheduled for Friday morning in Windsor. My good friend Emily and her husband Matt (who have a little boy just a few weeks older than Amity) happily took on the task of watching Ami and she enjoyed herself quite a bit. We shot some awesome pictures at the Water Valley Golf Course in Windsor, but we were all feeling quite soggy at the end of the shoot as the temperature neared 90 by noon.
That evening we went out with some friends Aaron knows through the physics department at UNC and celebrated Rob's (one of his buddies) girlfriend's birthday at the Rio downtown. It was a nice night and Amity was quite a sport being gone for such a big chunk of the day.
As Saturday rolled in, we started the day by stopping in at the Greeley Farmer's Market downtown and picking up some delicious peaches they had for sale. We were surprised and happy to see that Darren and Kathy (Aaron's aunt and uncle), also had a stand set up selling her amazing soaps. While Darren was holding Amity, Aaron's other aunt (Deb) walked up and it was like a mini family reunion!
Later that morning we had plans to go to Aaron's father's annual family picnic put on by his work (Woodward) in Ft. Collins. I had forgotten about all of the fun things they have set up for kids and families to do together (many of them being just a bit too old for Amity to thoroughly enjoy) and can't wait until Ami is just a bit older and can take advantage of the jumping castles, cotton candy stands, miniature carnival games, and things of the like. We enjoyed the afternoon with Dad and Beth and Chris were able to come up and hang out as well.
That evening we had plans to do Beth and Chris' engagement shoot (half of it casual in Greeley, and half of it a bit more formal in Kersey). It was a blast! My mom and Grandma Poppenger came up to babysit Amity during the first part of the shoot as we headed out to Two Rivers and got some sweet shots in the midst of a tree farm. In the meantime, Grandma and Mom were having a ball getting Amity to stick her feet in her mouth and loving on her throughout the day.
When we got back to the house, Beth and Chris did a quick outfit and hair change-up for our second shoot scheduled for the evening in Kersey. We drove out to Aaron's grandparent's/dad's house and Grandpa had the Model A all ready to go. We got some beautifully breath-taking shots from this shoot and had a wonderful time spending the entire day with our sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law.
Grandma had pistachio ice cream waiting for us back at the house once the photos were finished.
Aaron, Amity, and I all collapsed in bed about 11 or so and slept pretty hard that night. It was a wonderful way to spend the weekend and see so many people we care so deeply about!
