Everest is 4!

Yup! He's 4! And Everest Wright is such a joy in our lives. His humor is probably the thing people comment on most when they get to know him. He has that knack for perfect timing and saying the best one liners too! Just thinking of him makes me beam. I love being his momma.


Current List of all the Things Everest:
> What he wants to be when he grows up: Batman
> Favorite Color: Black
> Favorite Food: Pizza (and man can he put away a ton of pizza!)
> Favorite Style to Sing: anything he can add a touch of his own vibrato to
> Biggest Annoyance: His "Sleevies" which pertains to his arm sleeves and pant length and that they are NEVER too long to interfere with his wrists or ankles
> He loves shouting "I love you MOM!" when he's in the middle of gymnastics class
> He is a big snuggler and loves to be cozy!
> Favorite toys: Anything batman or super hero related including dress up, cars, legos, picasso tiles, and most things he can move around and fly or drive on our walls and countertops.

This melts me seeing how sweet they are together.

This bomber jacket was a gift from Gma and Gpa Poppenger for his second birthday. It is a size 2T and just now fits him perfectly - hehe.

We ventured to the little bird sanctuary near Glenmere Park here in Greeley to do his birthday pictures this year and we couldn't have picked a more perfect day. The air was a bit cooler, the leaves were starting to show some color, and the warm sunlight shone through like tiny beacons here and there and everywhere.

Along our adventure we were accompanied by a little house cat from nearby who was adorned with a collar and boldly had the name "Cookie Cat" engraved on it. She was a sweet heart and followed us for the remainder of our little adventure through the woods.


To finish our birthday shoot outing, we stopped at our favorite local coffee shop, John Galt Coffee and got some light treats and juice boxes.


For when Everest is old enough to read this himself I hope he knows how deeply loved he is. His big sister, daddy and mommy would not be complete without him in our lives.

Thank you buzz. You are more than we could've ever imagined you'd be and you still have such a long life ahead of you! Love you to the moon and back! - Momma

Amity's Big Debut in Album Art!

We have fantastic friends. Tim Coons, a local, amazing, and inspirational song-writer and artist hosted a project recently for his latest album. In essence, he asked a bunch of his artsy friends to take pictures that would go along with a song he posted from the album, each week in July, that he might be able to use for album art after the album is released. It was a huge hit. I watched as literally dozens of images flooding my instagram feed all hashtagged with Potomacproject, the name of his new album. One of the Hardest Weeks

Life isn't fair sometimes. This past Friday night, I started getting ready for bed by doing my usual Facebook, Pinterest, and Email checking as Amity and Aaron were winding down for sleep. As I was reading, I noticed a lot of people were commenting on an old friend of mine's wall, writing things about how much he will be missed and how great of a man he was. I was stopped. Gasping aloud, I burst into tears as I then found myself reading a post my childhood pastor made about how my friend, Jeff Ipsen had passed away due to an accident back-country-skiing with his brother and two friends. How could this be? This month has felt so difficult in so many ways and for a life so young, active, and wonderful to be gone from this world, just left me feeling uneasy and alone. Jeff and I were pretty close when I was in high school. Growing up going to youth group together, I remember my friend Sarah and I, both a year older than Jeff, immediately made up the name "Jefe"

Giggling, Smiling, and Growing Up So Quickly!

We went and paid a visit to my Grandma, Amity's Great-Grandma Rusho, this week and had a nice lunch out in Windsor. When we got back, we played and Grandma showed Ami the little doll she had recently finished crocheting a dress for. As you can see in the video, Amity thought the doll, and Grandma were a hoot and she laughed for the very first time! We were so thankful we remembered to bring the camera and caught as much of the giggles as we could! Since then, she has laughed one more time, last night, after spending a weekend with Nana and Papi (my parents) down in Parker. Aaron and I were out, shooting a wedding on Saturday, and Nana and Papi took great care of her. It was a long day for us all on Sunday as Amity was up every couple of hours Saturday night, and Aaron and I only arrived back from the wedding to head to bed sometime just before 1am.
